Great beer, amazing tasting food. Had the chili, chunky tomatoes, lots of beans and meat, really good flavor (just not hot, luke warm temp). Then, tacos ... steak taco had high-quality steak, melt in your mouth tender. The pork taco had a great flavorful profile. I wanted more food but controlled myself. Come for the beer, stay for the food. It's worth the trip.

Brunch was unique and full of unique flavors! Not what you think of when you think of traditional breakfast foods, especially for our area of the country. The mix of breakfast, lunch, and Californian West Coast Tex-Mex blended well. We had the sausage huevos ranchos and the classic chorizo quesadilla. The quesadilla was packed with cheese, robust flavored chorizo, potatoes, and onions. The portion size was so massive I could only eat 1/4 of it before being stuffed. My husband’s huevos ranchos was also a perfectly balanced blend of house made sausage, eggs, beans, sauce and crispy chips. It is a bit of a wet dish, just to forewarn anyone who might not like that type of thing. Service was quick and friendly. Prices for the portion sizes were excellent. Definitely a great brunch spot. Also to note: they don’t allow subtituions. If you’re into craft beer and drinks they also offer an extensive menu.

We had an interesting experience with the hostess. He had black glasses. I’m glad they gave someone with special needs a role here. I think he even had a few tables to wait on. We had Ellie as our waitress and she was awesome. I had a Chorizo Stack. The meats, toppings, and bun were delicious!!!

We eat here regularly. Almost always get 2-3 tacos (love the thai shrimp, chorizo, korean bbq, baja) and sometimes get their house salad (which is quite good) and one taco or fries. We never get the burritos because they’re just too big. Of course they have a great beer selection, but if you can pry yourself away from beer, I’ve found all their cocktails to be excellent! They use that great nugget ice. Their house rock, the spicy pineapple, and the mexican mule are excellent and better priced than most restaurants. As much as I love this place, it’s in need of a refresh inside. The other locations with the same owners are much cooler and updated compared to the Charleston Black Sheep. It also seems like there is very little promotion, never have live music or events, etc. Seems like management is complacent, but the other nearby restaurants are trying harder.

We got lucky and ran across this place at the end of the street where the pride festival was happening. The menu is fairly clearly labeled with their Gluten Free options (GF) and Vegan options (V). If you aren't sure about anything, just ask, because they're really accommodating. I got the Thai Peanut Burrito made into a bowl with tofu as my protein option and it was delicious!!! The chips and guac were okay, but the guac could've definitely used some more seasoning, as it was really bland. Loved our server, Coco. Fabulous personality and service! This was probably our favorite part of visiting Charleston, other than the rage room.

Came in right at the start of happy hour, was impressed at the beer selection and happy hour prices. Had 3 beers in total and loved all of them! The burrito I picked has unfortunately just been dropped off the menu, but the selection was great so I had no problem finding a new choice. The bartender even helped me and made some recommendations. I ended up with the general tsos tofu burrito. Everything was delicious and I wish I lived near here to revisit. Don't sleep on the Black Sheep!

Best burgers we've had in a long time! Dog-friendly outdoor seating. Terrific waiter who was kind, informative and went over and above finding the largest bowl in the kitchen to bring water for our two St Bernards. I wish I had gotten his name because he was seriously the best!! Thank you Black Sheep for a great experience 4/26/25

The food we were served was delicious. One got a cheeseburger that was perfect. A thick, juicy burger with some of the best tasting fries. Two of us got the three taco choices. Very good and also unique, because you can’t get tacos like that anywhere else around here. The food is definitely not like a fast food meal and hit our hungry spot. If you like fresh food with a bit of spice this is it. If you love a great burger, choose Black Sheep Burito.
